FujiFilm Mexico is the sales company of FujiFilm Holdings in our country. It has two product division, classified as follows:
Consumer products: digital cameras, 3D imaging products, My Photobook, photo products and Inkjet paper.
Specialized products: medical systems, graphic arts, photofinishing equipment, photobooks building systems Powis, professional film and magnetics. Today it has a wide network of customers, business partners and collaborators.
BACKGROUND
FujiFilm Mexico needed to invest in new technology that would enable agility, flexibility and growth in its management information systems, with the purpose of obtaining information from its ERP and BW in an optimal way, and above all, in a way that would allow it to share that information with other systems and new business processes, which required additional testing and adjustment without affecting production.
SOLUTION
The production environment of SAP ERP and SAP BW are essential for decision making in FujiFilm, therefore moving to an environment other than AS/400 and DB2 had to be justified by more than just a change of platform. SYAAT has engaged in the task of justifying technically and financially the option of moving SAP to a Windows operating system environment, SQL Server database, DELL machines and VMware virtualization software.
SYAAT bases its consulting practices on standard SAP methodology, for that reason we used the Run SAP methodology -found in the SAP Solution Manager- in the FujiFilm project. SAP Solution Manager was prepared to take the management of the project from its installation in a virtualized environment, configuration and use thereof, throughout the project.
The conversion process from the SAP production environment based on physical machine to a virtual VMware machine was documented in SAP Solution Manager, allowing FujiFilm to get knowledge in an easy and friendly way.
